“National Lampoon’s Vacation” star Anthony Michael Hall admitted at Fan Expo Chicago (trans Entertainment Weekly) that he was caught trying to sneak onto the set of the 1983 classic comedy in order to watch his co-star Beverly D’Angelo film a nude shower scene. Hall joined D’Angelo and fellow cast members Castie Brinkley, Randy Quaid, and Dana Barron at the event. He stars in the comedy as Rusty Griswold, son of Clark (Chevy Case) and Ellen (D’Angelo).
During the conversation, which had to be limited due to the actors not being able to talk about filming details due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, D’Angelo and Brinkley said fans keep coming to them to talk about seeing their nude scenes in a movie.

“I have a lot of guys say I was the first boobs they ever saw,” said D’Angelo.
Brinkley added, “Someone walked into my booth yesterday and said, ‘I just love you in the nude scenes. ‘” “
That’s when Barron, who played Rusty’s sister Audrey, revealed that Hall was busted while trying to watch D’Angelo film a nude shower scene. Hall openly admitted that Barron’s story was true.
“Should I pick up the story here?” He said. “So, I got busted for trying to sneak onto the set when Beverly was doing the shower scene.”
Hall cited the SAG-AFTRA strike as the reason for not discussing the incident further.
On the subject of nude scenes, Barron informed the audience that Brinkley was not nude during her infamous pool scene with Chase. She said, “Christy was wearing a bodysuit that made her look naked, but she wasn’t naked because she was, or is, a supermodel and didn’t want to reveal everything, as she used to say.”
“I still realize I was the only person who was really naked,” D’Angelo jokes. “Now I am rethinking my whole life.”
Directed by Harold Ramis from a screenplay by John Hughes, National Lampoon’s Vacation centers on the Griswold family as they embark on a road trip to a theme park and find themselves in the middle of several wild shout-outs.
