Apple TV+ has named its upcoming series from Legendary’s Monsterverse: “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.”
“Monarch” is set in the same universe as the films “Godzilla” (2014), “Kong: Skull Island” (2017), “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” (2019), “Godzilla vs. Kong” (2021) and its sequel The upcoming “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.” Spanning three generations, the series follows the thundering battle between Godzilla and the Titans that devastates San Francisco and follows two brothers who follow in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secret organization known as Monarch. The clues lead them into the realm of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), set in the 1950s and a half later as Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.
