In a statement issued to the peopleSweetin said she was surprised to learn that her movie Make me romantic It was sold to the previous network Full house costar as creative head, unbeknownst to her.
“Sometimes we, as actors, don’t control which network is buying the projects we’re in, nor are we part of the process by which they are sold,” she said. “So I was very surprised when I read about it in the press yesterday that the independent movie I’ve been working on for over a year has been sold to Great American Family.”
Sweetin, 41, continued, “I am disappointed, but in keeping with my mission to support the LGBTQ+ family, any potential or future funds from this sale will be donated to LGBTQ+ organizations.”

The movie, which also stars Brent Bailey, Maxwell Caulfield, and Julie Brown, is part of the network’s fall slate and will premiere Sept. 16. When a rival shopkeeper (Billy) tells her she must either sell her shop or be forced out of business.
Great American Family did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.
Bure, who joined the network in an executive role last year, has previously sparked controversy when she said The Wall Street Journal that GAF Will Keep ‘Traditional Marriage at Core’ While discussing the topic of LGBTQ+ inclusion in programming. In the same interview, Bill Abbott, CEO of Great American Media, said that “spiritual or religious content is very underserved” in Hollywood.
“My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning, purpose and depth behind them,” Bure added of her move on from Hallmark, which in recent years has included more LGBTQ+ fiction. “I knew the people behind the Great American Family were Christians who love the Lord and want to promote religious programming and good family entertainment.”

“I’ve always tried to fight for equality and love for everyone,” said Sweetin. “I feel if you have a voice and you have a platform, you have to stand up and use it.”
