Nina Dobrev lives a busy and unconventional life. Be it starring in a new Netflix comedy Outlaws Or promoting her line of clean wines with her friend Julianne Hough, it’s not always easy to keep people close. That’s why the actress says, “The best form of connection for me are the people who are most understanding of my quirky lifestyle.”
“My best friends are the people who you might go a few months without seeing each other, but when you click back together it’s like no time has passed,” she explains. “I rely on my family and my dog, who are my best friends because I see them so often.”
As much love as Maverick gives him — she’s even partnered with Milk-Bone on a new fashion line with streetwear brand OnlyNY (chic!) — Dobrev says she also feels more like herself when she prioritizes self-care.
“It’s important,” she explains. “That includes going to yoga, running, setting up a home sweat mat, or riding a bike. I take time that isn’t about my work or the people in my life. It’s important to cut it out, and that’s been really important for my mental health.”
Dobrev started her career in Canadian teen dramas degrassi (which also boasts an alum as Drake) and followed that up by playing another teen The Vampire Diaries, where (spoiler alert) she finally played a character who stopped aging completely. Still, she says she doesn’t feel too pressured by the passage of time — even if, at 34, she’s “forced to think” about getting older.
“I feel like my heart is so young, when I said 34 I was like, ‘Who are you talking about? Certainly not me. “Aging happens to everyone, and we hope you can do it with grace. That’s why you get bangs — so when you start to get wrinkles, you can’t see them either.”
Unlike many stars, who remain mum when rumors of plastic surgery surfaced on social media, Dobrev recently responded to claims that she had eyelid surgery. on Penn Badgley podcast bodycrushed Earlier this month, she told the hosts about the bizarre experience of finding a plastic surgeon on TikTok insisting she had accomplished something.
“I had nothing to hide, and I got upset, because I was reading these things that weren’t true,” she explains, prompting her to speak up. “Aging is a natural part of life. It will happen to all of us.”
